Our vision at Blackbird Retreat is to provide our guests a unique Cape Breton & Cabot Trail experience. Whether its staying in our charming bed and breakfast accommodation or artistic ecological cabins, our aim is to provide a lasting impression on our guests. Furthermore, as people who practice what we preach, we believe in locally grown food, farm to fork lifestyle, and a holistic approach to life that includes massage, hikes, bikes, river swims, saunas/cold dunks, adventure and love for the natural world.

Hike/Ski/Snowshoe/Run our 10km trails, try your hand at a game of disc golf, jump in the nearby Middle River for a swim, go fly fishing, or just wander our fields alight with fireflies on summer nights, or just lay back and listen to the bird song

We are situated 1.5km from the World Famous Cabot Trail, just before the beautiful Margaree Valley. Nestled below the Highlands National Park, with the Bras D'Or lakes to the South and the Atlantic Ocean to the North, our farm is a great location for all sorts of exploring and we will happily point you to all of our favorite spots.
